InkTober is coming!

What is InkTober?

InkTober is a challenge all through October to do one inked drawing a day through the month.  Each drawing uploaded should be tagged with #inktober, or #inktober2016.

That's really about it.  There are variants of the challenge where you can do a drawing every other day, or even once a week!

How do you participate?

You need a pen and paper at least.  There's not really a good digital equivalent, but I have seen people work through the challenge digitally using brushes and tools which emulate ink in programs like Sketchbook and Clip Studio.

Personally, I find Inktober to be an awesome chance to experiment with tools and techniques you might not typically use!

Can I do sketches before inking?

Yup. Actually, you could potentially do all your sketches ahead of time and ink them through the month.

Are there themes?

...Yes?  You can make up your own, but the themes aren't something you need to follow.  There's a bunch out there - ranging from what's on the InkTober site, to random Halloween-themed prompts on tumblr.

• Are you doing InkTober, kabocha?
  Yes.  I'm going to try for the daily challenge.  I'll post them on my tumblr.
  
• What will you be using?
  Uh... Well.  I got a Canson XL wirebound notebook (Mixed media is sufficient), a bottle of Higgins eternal ink (not waterproof), and a really tiny Langernickel brush (which doesn't do a good job of anything except being terrible so I won't be using that).  I've also have Sakura Microns, copic multiliners, and various bottles of ink to work with, too.
• Are there inking tutorials?
  Not by me, buuuut, Nattosoup is going to post some soon.  She also briefly goes over using the stuff from the (way overpriced) ArtSnacks InkTober box.  If you've got a youtube account and like tutorials and stuff, consider following her channel!
